JUPITER, Florida (Ticker) -- Michael Barrett singled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Montreal Expos to a 3-2 victory over the New York Mets in the Grapefruit League. Barrett stroked a single to left-center field off loser Satoru Komiyama. Graeme Lloyd, the last of four relievers, pitched a scoreless ninth for the win. Starter Britt Reames worked four scoreless innings. Vladimir Guerrero drove in a pair of runs and Peter Bergeron had two hits for the Expos. Mets starter Steve Trachsel allowed two runs and five hits in five inning. New York catcher Mike Piazza left the game in the top of the first inning after getting hit on the left knee with a pitch. |
