VERO BEACH, Florida (Ticker) -- Sidney Ponson, Melvin Mora and the Baltimore Orioles kept on rolling. Ponson pitched six strong innings and Mora hit another homer, powering the Orioles to their sixth straight Grapefruit League win, 7-2 over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Trying to come back from an injury-plagued season, Ponson allowed two runs and six hits with a walk and a strikeout, lowering his spring ERA to 2.77. He helped the Orioles to their 15th win in 17 games following a 2-5 start. Mora doubled and homered for the fourth time in five games as part of a 12-hit attack. Jose Leon was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Luis Garcia chipped in two hits and scored a run for Baltimore. Dodgers starter Odalis Perez surrendered four runs -- three earned -- and seven hits in five innings. Alex Cora had two hits and scored a run for Los Angeles. |
