DUNEDIN, Florida (Ticker) -- Chris Carpenter allowed three runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings as the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Devils battled to a 3-3 tie in 10 innings. Carpenter walked three and struck out four before giving way to relief pitchers Pedro Borbon, Kelvim Escobar, Bob File and Charles Kegley, who combined to allow two hits over the last 3 1/3 innings. Shannon Stewart, Eric Hinske and Chris Latham drove in runs for the Blue Jays. Devil Rays starter Ryan Rupe yielded three runs and six hits in 4 1/3 innings, walking five and striking out six. Relievers Nathan Ruhl, Esteban Yan and Delvin James allowed a total of three hits. Greg Vaughn, Jared Sandberg and Brent Abernathy drove in a run apiece for the Devil Rays. |
