KISSIMMEE, Florida (Ticker) -- Andruw Jones and Rafael Furcal hit solo home runs and Albie Lopez allowed one run in six innings as the Atlanta Braves posted a 5-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals. Jones homered in the third inning to open the scoring and Furcal's blast came in the fifth, breaking a 1-1 tie and giving the Braves the lead for good. Lopez walked one and struck out two as Atlanta won all three exhibition games against Kansas City. Chuck Knoblauch drove in the lone run for the Royals with a ground out in the fifth, scoring A.J. Hinch. Kansas City starter Paul Byrd allowed five runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings. |
