WINTER HAVEN, Florida (Ticker) -- Ellis Burks went 5-for-5 with a pair of homers and five RBI, leading the Cleveland Indians to an 8-4 Grapefruit League victory over the Atlanta Braves. Burks hit his third and fourth homers of the spring to pace the Indians' 13-hit attack. C.C. Sabathia recorded his second win, yielding four runs and eight hits over seven hits with no walks and nine strikeouts. Andruw Jones belted a three-run homer in the top of the sixth inning, when the Braves scored four runs to erase a 4-0 deficit. Jones, the Braves' starting center fielder, also committed an error in his two-inning stint at shortstop. Atlanta starter Tom Glavine yielded just one run and four hits over three innings in his final spring start. Tim Spooneybarger, the fourth of five Braves' pitchers, suffered the loss, allowing two runs and three hits in one inning. |
