FORT MYERS, Florida (Ticker) -- Adrian Brown collected three hits, including a tie-breaking RBI single in the top of the 10th inning, as the Pittsburgh Pirates posted a 5-4 Grapefruit League victory over the Minnesota Twins. Brian Giles and Abraham Nunez drove in two runs apiece for the Pirates, who conclude their exhibition slate with a pair of games against the Toronto Blue Jays. Sean Lowe earned the win with two scoreless innings, allowing three hits. Justin Reid recorded the final three outs for the save. Cristian Guzman and A.J. Pierzynski had two hits apiece for the Twins. Pittsburgh starter Josh Fogg yielded three runs and six hits over six innings. Minnesota's Eric Milton also went six innings, allowing four runs and eight hits. The Twins finish exhibition play with games against the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves. |
