HOUSTON (Ticker) -- Roy Oswalt continued his perfect spring and Lance Berkman homered twice as the Houston Astros treated their home fans to a 5-1 Grapefruit League victory over the Boston Red Sox. Oswalt improved to 4-0 by giving up just one run in seven innings. He scattered seven hits while walking one and striking out five. Berkman hit a three-run homer off Dustin Hermanson in the first inning and a solo shot against knuckleballer Tim Wakefield in the sixth. He also singled in four at-bats. Jeff Bagwell had a double, RBI and run scored for Houston, which played in Astros Field. The ballpark had been known as Enron Field. Hermanson suffered the loss, allowing four runs in five innings. Johnny Damon had two hits and scored Boston's lone run. The game lasted just 2 hours, 15 minutes. |
