TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- Juan Rivera went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Rondell White drove in two runs as the New York Yankees defeated the Philadelphia Phillies, 8-5, in both teams' 2002 Grapefruit League finale.

Derek Jeter had four hits and scored three runs and Alfonso Soriano added two hits for the Yankees, who open the regular season Monday in Baltimore.

Mike Mussina was not sharp, allowing five runs and seven hits in five innings while striking out just one. Kevin Lovingier picked up the win after giving up one hit in two innings.

Mariano Rivera got back on track, striking out two in the ninth for the save.

Rivera was pounded for six runs on five hits while retiring only one batter Thursday against Cincinnati.

Mike Lieberthal and Pat Burrell had two hits and Marlon Anderson drove in two runs for Philadelphia, which visits Atlanta on Monday.

Terry Adams was unimpressive, surrendering nine hits and four runs -- three earned -- in 4 1/3 innings while walking two and striking out three. Carlos Silva took the loss, allowing two runs and two hits in one inning.
