Fearless predictions

SI scribes take a stab a what the 2001 season has in store

It's never too early for predictions. Sports Illustrated's three wise men -- Stephen Cannella, Jeff Pearlman and Tom Verducci -- step up to the plate and select their studs and few duds for the upcoming season. About the only thing they agree on is that St. Louis will lose in the World Series. Cannella and Verducci envision a Cards-Yankees Fall Classic, while Pearlman says the A's will be the last team standing.
