CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Harry Caray was a "Cubs Fan and a Bud Man." Apparently, there were a few of those tonight at Wrigley Field. Chicago Cubs fans embarrassed the city and sport, littering the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen with beer to instigate a wild brawl that spilled into the crowd during the bottom of the ninth inning of a 6-5 loss. Caray, the late Hall of Fame broadcaster, pronounced himself a "Cubs Fan and a Bud Man" on several occasions. Late in the game tonight, fans took his words a little too far. Patrons actually stole momentum from the home team with one out in the bottom of the ninth, throwing something at the unprotected players and coaches in the bullpen down the right-field line. Reliever Mike Fetters, who is on the disabled list, and bullpen catcher Rick Dempsey stormed into the crowd after the fans and were followed by several teammates, including Todd Hundley, who belted a go-ahead homer in the top of the eighth. Things seemed to settle down as the entire Dodgers team sprinted to the rescue before beer again was thrown, forcing punches to be thrown between players, coaches and fans in the crowd. The Cubs looked like they were on the way to a come-from-behind win when rookie Julio Zuleta stroked a one-out RBI double down the right-field line, cutting their deficit to 6-5 and putting runners at second and third. But play was delayed for several minutes while players and coaches from both teams and security tried to restore order in the seats along the first-base line. When play resumed, Jeff Shaw got former Dodger Eric Young to pop up and Ricky Gutierrez to fly out to end the game.
