Nov. 13, 2002 Ellis has been named to the major league rookie all-star team. The A's second baseman batted .272 with six home runs and 35 RBI this season.
Jun. 6, 2002 Ellis has been recalled from Triple-A Sacramento by the Oakland A's. He will replace Esteban German, who was demoted on Thursday. Ellis had one hit in four at-bats with the A's earlier this season.
Apr. 18, 2002 Ellis got the starting nod at third base for the injured Eric Chavez on Thursday. The A's rookie singled in the seventh inning to record the first hit of his career.
Apr. 8, 2002 Ellis has been recalled from Triple-A Sacramento by the Oakland A's. He will be used as a backup at shortstop and second base, replacing the injured Randy Velarde.
