Looking to go somewhere where he wouldn't bounce between the rotation and bullpen, Daal agreed to a two-year deal with the Orioles. After going 11-9 in 2002, he joins Rodrigo Lopez and Sidney Ponson in the rotation.

Jul. 2, 2002 Daal threw in the bullpen on Sunday and did not report any problems with a minor left groin strain. He will start for the Dodgers on Tuesday vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Jun. 13, 2002 Daal will not start on Tuesday as scheduled, due to tendinitis in his left biceps muscle. The injury is considered minor, and the Dodgers' lefthander has been penciled in to start next Saturday.
May. 27, 2002 Daal returns to the Dodgers' starting rotation with Kevin Brown back on the disabled list. Daal is 4-0 with an 0.88 ERA in 17 games this season, including two starts. He will be replaced in the bullpen by Bryan Corey.
Apr. 30, 2002 Daal will return to the bullpen with Kevin Brown's activation from the disabled list. In two starts in Brown's stead, Daal was 2-0 with a 0.73 ERA for the Dodgers.
Apr. 26, 2002 Daal has been solid in place of the injured Kevin Brown, going 2-0 with a 0.73 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 12.1 innings. Daal and his agent have used his success to further lobby for a spot in the LA rotation or a trade.
