Padres look to continue home dominance against the Diamondbacks

Arizona (14-10) at San Diego (11-13), 4:05 pm EDT

SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- The San Diego Padres seek their 11th straight home victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday.

San Diego, which was swept at Phoenix last weekend, got a solo home run from Sean Burroughs - his first in 230 at-bats and 11th of his career - in a 2-0 victory over Arizona on Saturday.

Brian Lawrence rebounded from his shortest career start by holding the Diamondbacks to just two hits in eight innings and Trevor Hoffman picked up his 397th save.

Woody Williams (2-1, 4.85 ERA) will make his sixth start of the season for the Padres. He allowed three runs and eight hits in six innings against the San Francisco Giants on Monday.

Arizona counters with Javier Vazquez (2-2, 6.11), who came to the Diamondbacks from the New York Yankees in the deal for Randy Johnson . He has won his last two outings, including a two-run, five-hit performance in eight innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday.

The Diamondbacks, who trail the Dodgers by 1 1/2 games in the National League West, have not scored in their last 15 innings.
