The game was tied, 2-2, when Guillen stepped to the plate against
(0-3) with two outs and a runner at first. Guillen, who played for the Pirates from 1997-99, sent a 3-1 offering from Tavarez over the left field wall for his 15th home run.
"Against three teams that developed me, I've had some success," said Guillen, who is batting .417 on the road trip (15-for-36). "Went to Tampa, had a great series. In Arizona, another great series there. Maybe we'll put together a good series here. It's always good to do your best against teams that gave up on you."

D'Amico allowed one run and seven hits before leaving after throwing 108 pitches through five innings.
"I think early in the game I was trying to be too fine," D'Amico said. "I kind of forced it early in the game, made too many pitches, got behind in too many counts."
"You need to be patient, make the starter throw a lot of pitches, try to get to the bullpen early," Stairs said. "They did a better job of that tonight than we did."
Pittsburgh center fielder
strained his right calf attempting to catch Olmedo's broken-bat single leading off in the eighth. He exited the contest one out later and is listed as day-to-day.
The Pirates had won nine of their previous 14 games, including seven of 10 at home, and four in a row over the Reds.
