Brought up from Class AAA Richmond on May 30, Smith (0-2) pitched effectively in his debut with the Braves, allowing two runs and three hits in six innings, despite taking the loss against Philadelphia. He also was solid in this one, yielding three runs and six hits in seven innings.
"If you make your pitches, you get your guys out," Smith said. "I just made two bad pitches."
"Smith pitched a great game," said Braves manager

"I look at the lineup and find who the nine are and go from there," Milton said. "Who's in the lineup doesn't matter. You have to focus on getting guys out, no matter who's in the lineup."
Milton was supported by an offense that scored just 11 runs during its recent skid.
