"I am a Met fan. I used to live in Arizona and attended many games at Bank One Ballpark. One night at the stadium, after a Mets victory, my buddy and I stood up and started cheering. The old man in front of me stood up and smacked my hand, sending my cigarettes flying. Next thing I know I am jumped from behind, and I was sent flying into the old man's wife. Luckily the whole incident was witnessed by a Maricopa County Sheriff, who escorted us out for our own safety, and arrested the man who jumped me. I'm a pretty courteous fan, but I'm not afraid to root for my team. Now I live in South Florida, so going to a Met game is like going to Shea Stadium, without the airplanes"

"For the most part, opposing fans are given a good-natured ribbing during games, with comments ranging from clever to crude. At games against the Cubs, where the cross-town rivalry is intense, I have witnessed brutal physical altercations. I was not in a position to determine who started these incidents, but the violence that I have witnessed at these games has made me stop attending them. In addition, I would never even consider taking my children to a Cubs-Sox game at either team's ballpark."

"Haven't personally seen an incident. Fenway is good about escorting rowdy/drunk fans OUT of the ballpark. I think the fans are much nicer to a visiting team's fans than they are to a visiting team's players. Not so nice to the players, especially the Yankees. I would assume that some Yankees fans probably are given a lot of grief as well. But at least you don't take your life in your hands going to Fenway dressed in the opponent's paraphernalia, which is not true of Yankee Stadium. That's downright dangerous."
