How would you rate the cost of food and beverages at the ballpark?
What is the must-have food item offered at the ballpark and what makes it so good?
"Garlic fries! When someone in your section has them, the smell cannot be ignored, and when you get some for yourself, they're gone like that!"
"Barbeque with the 'Man.' The 'Man' is the hottest sauce you'll every try. I realize Seattle is not known for spicy barbeque, but trust me, nothing competes with the 'Man.'"
"Kobe burgers. Premium burgers at a ballpark -- a rarity."
"You can't go to Safeco Field without getting garlic fries. It's a pretty basic recipie, too: one part garlic, one part french fry, 100-percent delicious. Just make sure you get them before the third inning; otherwise, you'll be standing in line for the better part of the game waiting for them."
"Ichi-roll, because it celebrates food, culture, and an hometown hero."
How would you rate the hospitality offered to fans of the opposing team?
What is the worst incident you've witnessed against an opposing fan or yourself?
"Really, nothing other than some razzing. If it were a Seahawks game, then you get some folks who have drunk their breakfast and are ready to have the police take them away, but this is baseball in Seattle. People love it, enjoy the weather when they can and bring their kids."
"A very stern scoffing."
"There's normal heckling and throwing fake money when A-Rod comes to bat."
"Mariners management not allowing fans to wear "Yankees Suck" T-shirts."
"Maybe some shouting or some snide comments fired from behind a vanilla non-fat latte."
How would you rate the quality of the promotions/giveaways offered by the home team?
What is the best promotion/giveaway your team has offered? What is the worst? What is a promotion you'd like to see?
"I think the coolest one had to be Buhner Buzz Cut where fans could get into the game free if they got their heads shaved like Jay Buhner."
"J.J. Putz Soul-Patch Night. "
"The best promotion was a commercial for the team when Ichiro first signed. Everyone noticed that he had his first name on the back of his jersey. The rest of the team followed suit, and John Halama lost the draw for his name and had to put Thaddeus on the back. Classic."
"A promotion I would like to see is 'Take a shot at Howard Lincoln Day.'"
"I love the annual toy train giveaway. I've been going every year since they gave the first installment away, and it makes for a neat collection. They could do away with some of the nick-nack items like 'Military Coin Night.' I would like to see higher quality ballcaps on cap night."
