1B BRAD BOURAS hit an RBI double in the top of the 10th inning and later scored on a single by C GIOVANY SOTO as the Cubs beat Brevard County, 5-3, August 27. OF ADAM GREENBERG, who had his 15-game hitting streak snapped the previous night, led off the game with a homer. LHP RENYEL PINTO started and allowed a run and three hits, fanning 10, over six innings. He retired 10 batters in a row, including seven on strikes, between the first and fourth innings...

The next night, LHP SEAN MARSHALL allowed three hits over seven scoreless innings against the Dust Devils but was not involved in the decision, an eventual 1-0 setback...

C C.J. MEDLIN homered in the bottom of the 11th inning to rally the Hawks past Spokane, 4-3, August 25. A 15th-round selection in 2002, Medlin entered the game as a defensive replacement in the top of the 10th inning and led off the bottom of the 11th with his second career home run, snapping a 3-3 tie. C ALAN RICK ripped an RBI double in the bottom of the ninth to cut the deficit to 3-1 and OF TONY MCQUADE followed with his own double to plate two more runs and force extra frames....
