EDMONTON... OF TERRMEL SLEDGE homered twice and drove in a career-high seven runs in the Trappers' 13-4 victory over Salt Lake August 25. Sledge, who finished a single short of the cycle, slugged a two-run homer in his first at-bat and ripped his 25th double leading off the third. The 26-year-old North Carolina native legged out his team-leading ninth triple and scored a run to spark an eight-run fifth frame, which he capped with a grand slam. LHP LUKE LOCKWOOD tossed his second career shutout and earned the win in his fifth consecutive start as the Senators blanked Bowie, 7-0, August 25. An eighth-round pick in the 1999 draft, Lockwood faced just two batters over the minimum, scattering three hits, fanning two hitters and inducing 14 groundouts. The 22-year-old was perfect through three innings, yielding a leadoff single in both the fourth and fifth frames, and retired 12 in a row between the fifth and eighth. After allowing a third hit to begin the ninth, the California native induced the final three batters to ground out to complete the game...
