PORTLAND... 3B RICO WASHINGTON, OF XAVIER NADY and C WIKI GONZALEZ each homered during a six-run first inning as the Beavers beat Edmonton, 9-3, August 21. Washington hit a two-run blast, Nady added a three-run shot and Gonzalez belted a solo shot. The next night, 1B TAGG BOZIED and C YAMID HAAD each clubbed a three-run homer during a seven-run eighth in a 13-0 victory over the Trappers. LHP MIKE BYNUM worked 7 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing four hits. Bynum retired 11 batters in a row at one point...
