ATLANTA (CNNSI.com) -- Only Jeff Kent knows for sure.

Citing anonymous sources within the Giants organization, Bob Nightengale of Baseball Weekly reports that Kent broke his wrist in a motorcycle accident, not washing his truck. Kent may have made up the story about the truck-washing mishap because it violates the rules in a player's contract to ride a motorcycle.

"I hear that rumor is floating around," Kent said. "Sure. I guess. However you want to write it, it's still a broken wrist."

The San Francisco Giants second baseman didn’t deny reports Saturday that he suffered a broken wrist in a motorcycle accident.

"There's no doubt that I ride motorcycles," Kent added. "That's my hobby. There's no doubt that I hunt and climb trees 20 feet in the air. It's no secret that I wash trucks and that I'm an outdoor person."

Regardless of how the injury occurred, Kent is ahead of schedule in his return, but doubts he'll be ready to play when the season begins April 2.

"I don't think it will happen unless I can get a couple of spring training games in," he said.
