BIOGRAPHY: Williams is entering the draft after a strong sophomore season at Arizona, ending any chance of returning to college after hiring an agent. Averaged 16.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game this past season, but struggled in two postseason contests. He failed to show much leadership as Arizona was eliminated after one game in both the Pac-10 and NCAA tournament. He was held to a combined 24 points and four rebounds in those losses, and also struggled defensively. A shaky performance against Purdue in the NCAA tournament might have damaged his draft status. He had just 11 points and one rebound, and defensive miscues gave the Boilermakers open shots. His streaky play might worry some NBA teams, but his ability to play shooting guard or small forward would certainly be a plus for a club looking to add versatility. Williams' negative attitude has been a problem, and he often settles for jump shots instead of driving the lane. Shot 47.5 percent from the field and 35.6 from 3-point range in his career at Arizona. Had a strong freshman season, averaging 13.0 points per game. Scored 24 points in an NCAA tournament loss to No. 3 Villanova that season, when his stock was probably higher than it is now.
