BIOGRAPHY: The third freshman from Ohio State's national finalist team to declare for the NBA draft, Cook preserved his college eligibility by opting not to hire an agent. Projects to get selected anywhere from the middle of the first round to early in the second. Came off the bench for the Buckeyes. He had a fantastic start to the season, averaging 17.6 points and shooting 57.3 percent from the field in his first eight games, but played a much reduced role after center Greg Oden returned from injury. He averaged only 4.8 points and shot 9-for-30 from the floor in the NCAA tournament, and did not score in double figures in any game after Feb. 21. Still, scouts project the highly athletic Cook as a future big-time scorer who can either drive the lane or shoot a mid-range jumper for his points. He can also rebound well for his size, as his 4.3 average on the boards as a freshman attests. Has an NBA-ready body, with all the skills to develop into a stopper on defense but struggles at times because he gambles too often.Below average defender and had more assists than turnovers.
