BIOGRAPHY: Begic, who will be 22 years old by draft day, has seen increased playing time since being loaned from Italian team Virtus Bologna to Geoplin Slovan of the Adriatic League. Though his new team struggled, he made the most of his minutes. Begic will get attention from NBA teams simply because of his size. He has a large wingspan, and his height allows him to alter shots. He moves up and down the court well for someone his size and doesn't have the same lack of coordination that often plagues tall players. He has good hands and gets lots of dunks and rebounds. Begic is also a decent shooter away from the basket, though he would benefit from working on his shot. However, Begic is skinny and given his body type, he might have a hard time putting on much more weight. As a result, he can be pushed around in the lane and, while he is good at helping out on defense, he has a tough time guarding players one-on-one. He doesn't have the best endurance and has struggled with injuries throughout his career. Athletically, Begic isn't very explosive, which might leave him exposed in the NBA.
