BIOGRAPHY: Outstanding athleticism gives him a chance to succeed in the fast-paced NBA. Averaged 15.9 points per game this season. Runs the fast break extremely well, often finishing dunks with authority. Came in third in the voting for the 2008 ACC defensive player of the year. Has the potential to be a stopper on defense in the pros. Good post defender and a strong shot blocker due to his leaping ability and instincts. Averaged 2.3 blocks in 2007-08, and at least 1.0 in each of his four seasons with Maryland. Improved dramatically on offense during his career with the Terrapins. Shows a nice touch in the paint. Jump shot is improving, and he made a career-best 73.7 percent of his attempts from the free-throw line as a senior. Became more aggressive from 3-point range in 2007-08, attempting 71 and making 22 (31.0 percent) after shooting one as a freshman. Sometimes disappears on offense. Can be passive. Must work harder when moving without the ball. Averaged 7.9 boards this season, but should be a better rebounder because of his size and leaping ability. Not strong enough to play power forward in the NBA, but has the potential to develop into a competent wing player. Expected to be a late second-round pick, if he is selected at all.
