Biography: Hayward came within inches of helping Butler defeat Duke in the NCAA title game with a halfcourt heave as time expired, but
the 20-year-old from Brownsburg, Ind., had no second thoughts of returning for his final two seasons and trying to help Butler
return to the Final Four. Many feel that there is no doubt that the swingman will be selected in the top 20 and become Butler's
first first-round draft pick. Hayward, last season's Horizon League player of the year, averaged team highs with 15.5 points
and 8.2 rebounds after scoring 13.1 with 6.5 boards as a freshman. With an ability to put the ball on the floor and get to
the basket, Hayward is a tough cover and can convert when he gets to the foul line, hitting 82.4 percent the last two seasons.
He has a quick release and presents matchup problems, but Hayward needs to work on his defense and post game. Some say he
needs to play more aggressively to succeed at the NBA level.
