TEAM REPORT

Coach: Tammy Holder (15-29, 2nd year)
1997-98 Finish: 15-29 (fifth in Western Conference)
Probable Starters:
F -- Shalonda Enis, (6-1, 18.0 ppg, 7.6 rpg)
F -- Angela Aycock, (6-2, 6.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg)
C -- Astou Ndiaye, (6-3, 5.4 ppg, 2.3 rpg)
G -- Niesa Johnson, 5-9, 8.1 ppg, 2.8 apg)
G -- Kate Starbird, (6-2, 12.7 ppg, 3.1 apg)
Strengths: Enis had a spectacular rookie season, capturing
Rookie of the Year award and the Most Valuable Player award in
the All-Star Game. Starbird averaged almost 13 points a game
last year and should improve on that. Johnson is lightning quick
and a good passer and is the only starter under 6-0.
Weaknesses: The Reign finished sixth in the league in scoring
and lost second-leading scorer Val Whiting. They must tighten
up on a defense that was third-worst in the league. Aycock and
Ndiaye must help take the offensive load off Enis. Seattle
averaged over 20 turnovers a game, a figure that Johnson should
help reduce.
Key Losses: F Val Whiting.
New Faces: F Naomi Mulitauaopele, G Niesa Johnson.
