Memphis
1998-99 record
13-15 overall, 6-10 C-USA
Coach
Tic Price, 30-27 (two seasons at Memphis); 93-54 overall
Projected starting lineup
G Marcus Moody, 6-5, Jr.
Was hampered by injuries last season, but finished averaging 12.6 points per game.

G Keiron Shine, 5-10, Sr.
A press-breaker who would've been helped by the eligibility of Jimmy "Snap" Hunter.

C Kelly Wise, 6-10, So.
C-USA's fourth-best shot block will be pushed by 6-11 freshman Earl Barron.

F Paris London, 6-8, So.
He was somewhat shoft and unpolished as a freshman, but he has the tools to help the Tigers.

F Shannon Forman, 6-5, Jr.
The transfer from Northwest Mississippi Community College should grab the starting power forward spot thanks to his defense.

Top guy off the bench
F Shamel Jones, 6-9 Jr.
Was inconsistent last season averaging 5.6 points and 3.8 rebounds.
Key Newcomer
C Earl Barron, 6-11, Clarksdale, Miss.
Averaged 20 points and 11 rebounds as a senior at Clarksdale (Miss.) High School.
Key Games
vs. Arkansas (Jan. 2), The annual border war. Always physical and dominated by the Hogs this decade.
vs. Louisville (Feb. 5), Another long-standing rivalry. Memphis hasn't lost to the Cardinals at home since 1988-89.
Outlook
The Tigers faithful cut Tic Price some slack last season because of the team's youth. He might not have that luxury this season. The loss of Hunter, who finished last season averaging 17.1 points per C-USA game, really hurts. But there is a wealth of unproven talent on the team. Their success will rest with Wise inside and Moody at shooting guard.
Tigers' 1999-00 schedule
