Outlook
Holy Cross lost some key ingredients from last season's NCAA tournament team, most notably 7-1 center Josh Sankes. But the Crusaders still appear to have enough talent to rule the league again, especially if Tim Szatko, the 6-8 junior, continues to keep his game at a high level. A year ago, he was chosen the league's MVP. Holy Cross could have a strong front line again if Patrick Whearty can step in at center. Jave Meade and Ryan Serravalle form a potent backcourt. As long as veteran coach Don DeVoe is at Navy, the Midshipmen will be a factor in the Patriot League race. DeVoe doesn't have great size, but he's got an athletic lineup with solid guards and a part of junior frontcourt performers in Kyle Barker and Francis Ebong who can impact games -- Barker with his versatile scoring ability (he can post or shoot the three-pointer) and Ebong with his rebounding. Colgate will build around all-league forward Pat Campolieta, but has plenty of additional firepower in guards Dave Hardy, Mark Linebaugh and Tim Sullivan, all of whom averaged double-figure scoring a year ago.
