3-Pointers
by Sports Illustrated's Alexander Wolff

Posted March 11, 1998

Pointing out the perpetrators of the greatest steals in tournament history:

1. Bobby Joe Hill, Texas Western, 1966.
Early in the final game against Kentucky, Hill made two critical swipes that led to the Miners' epic 72-65 upset--the Brown vs. Board of Education of college basketball.

2. Joe Quigg, North Carolina, 1957.
At the end of the third OT, Quigg knocked away a pass intended for Wilt Chamberlain to ensure the Tar Heels' 54-53 championship victory over Kansas.

3. UNLV, 1991.
The Runnin' Rebels set a Final Four record with 16 in their 103-73 final-game fly-by over Duke.
