POS HT WT CLASS offensive options. 2000-01 MagicMetric(TM) NCAA Player Rating: 12.038 (Ranked 478th out of 3000+) Career to date: Sat out his freshman season due to NCAA regulations. Played well in limited minutes over his sophomore season (3.4 ppg). Emerged as a junior (10.1 ppg, 5.5 rpg). Scouting Report: Mostly a perimeter scorer, and a good one at that ... Problem is, he's only a marginal shooter ... Shoots off his shoulder, lots of spin, little arc ... Needs to develop an in-between game because he's far more effective closer to the basket ... Doesn't like to score on interior but has good toughness at his size ... Rebounds the ball extremely well, so there's no reason why he shouldn't be battling in traffic for points more often ... Excellent defender. Professional Outlook: Wesby is your prototypical CBA player because he is a "tweener" at the NBA level. He lacks the shooting prowess of a guard and the size of a forward. Nevertheless, as good as he is, he could have a long career playing for pay. For the record: Minutes almost quadrupled from his sophomore to his junior campaign (7.6 to 31.3). Fun fact: Wesby has played his entire prep and collegiate career in Philadelphia.
