MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- No. 13 Marquette looks to celebrate its rise in the rankings on Tuesday night when it tries to extend its home winning streak to 19 games as it hosts Eastern Illinois.
Dwyane Wade poured in 32 points and added 13 rebounds and seven assists as Marquette (3-0) captured the Blue and Gold Classic on Saturday with an 80-68 victory over Texas-San Antonio. He scored 22 points in the first half and made 10-of-17 shots for the game.
Wade is averaging 24.3 points and is shooting nearly 56 percent (29-of-52) from the floor. Robert Jackson is second on the team with a 13.3 scoring average.
The Golden Eagles have not lost at home since a 77-74 triple overtime defeat to Louisville on February 24, 2001.
Eastern Illinois (1-2) lost its second straight after a 91-78 defeat at Illinois-Chicago on Sunday. Craig Lewis scored 22 points and Henry Domercant added 21.
The Panthers are concluding a season-opening four-game road trip with a second game against a ranked opponent. They were beaten at Florida on November 21, 99-65, as Domercant managed just seven points on 2-of-7 shooting.
