MISSOULA, Montana (Ticker) -- No. 25 Gonzaga plays its first true road game of the season Thursday night when it visits Montana.
Gonzaga (3-2) extended its home winning streak at The Kennel to 28 games with a 95-89 overtime victory over Washington on Monday night. Blake Stepp poured in a career-high 33 points and made all eight free-throw attempts in the extra session.
Cory Violette collected 17 points and 12 rebounds and Ronny Turiaf continued his strong start with 18 points off the bench. Turiaf is averaging 19.8 points per game and has been to the line for at least 10 attempts in every game.
Montana (1-4) finished last in the Great Alaska Shootout with three losses. The Grizzlies lost to Michigan State, Loyola Marymount and Alaska-Anchorage in succession.
David Bell leads Montana in scoring at 18.2 points per game. Freshman Kevin Criswell comes off the bench and chips in 11.8 points.
The Grizzlies, who lost to Oregon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament last season, are led by former DePaul coach Pat Kennedy, who is in his first season.
Gonzaga posted an 83-63 victory over Montana last year behind 21 points and nine rebounds from Zach Gourde. Turiaf added 13 and 13. The Bulldogs lead the series, 28-16.
