PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Third-ranked Pittsburgh tries to extend its non-conference home winning streak to 22 games on Saturday when it hosts Southeastern Louisiana at the Peterson Events Center.
The Panthers have won 21 consecutive home games against non-Big East opponents dating to December 23, 1999, when they lost to Virginia Commonwealth. They have won their last 10 home games overall, including their first four at their new arena.
Pittsburgh is trying for just the second 6-0 start in school in history. It also won the first six games of the 1987-88 season.
The Panthers are winning by an average of 29 points per game and cruised to an 82-60 victory over intrastate rival Penn State last Saturday.
Donatas Zavackas scored a career-high 20 points and Julius Page added 14 for Pittsburgh (5-0), which has won 18 of its last 22 games overall.
Southeastern Louisiana (1-4) opened the season with three losses before posting its first win but comes off a 77-69 defeat at New Orleans on Monday.
Gary Soloman scored a career-high 19 points off the bench and Marcus Smith added 18 for the Lions, who are 0-2 on the road this season.
Pittsburgh and Southeastern Louisiana have not faced each other previously.
