TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Fourth-ranked Arizona can capture the Fiesta Bowl Classic title for the 17th time in 18 years on Monday night when it hosts Boston University.
Arizona (6-1) has won its own tournament every year except when it fell to Mississippi State in the championship game in the 2000-01 season. The Wildcats advanced to the championship game with a 95-69 victory over Davidson on Saturday.
Luke Walton returned after missing a pair of games with an ankle injury and managed only six points and seven rebounds in 19 minutes. Salim Stoudamire picked up the slack with a season-high 23 points and and freshman Hassan Adams added 18.
Freshman Chris Rodgers netted 14 points and center Channing Frye added 12 points and nine rebounds. The Wildcats improved to 5-0 at home.
Boston University (5-5) is getting a second chance to knock off a Pac-10 Conference opponent on the road. The Terriers led most of the way before suffering a 61-57 loss at Stanford in the season opener on November 18.
Matt Turner scored 18 points and Billy Collins added 15 points as Boston University advanced to the title game with an 84-69 victory over Florida State on Saturday. The Terriers drained a season-high 14 3-pointers.
