PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- Second-ranked Pittsburgh attempts to bounce back from its first loss of the season when it meets local rival Robert Morris on Saturday at the Petersen Events Center.
Pittsburgh (9-1) saw its nine-game winning come to an end with a 79-67 loss at Georgia on Tuesday. Brandin Knight, a preseason co-Big East Player of the Year, made just 4-of-17 shots for 10 points and four assists.
The starters for Pittsburgh struggled as Knight was the only one to reach double figures. Ontario Lett and freshman Carl Krauser each scored 14 points to lead an inspired effort off the bench.
Pitt has a 24-game home non-conference winning streak, including a perfect 7-0 mark this season. This is the Panthers' final game before beginning Big East Conference play on Monday against Notre Dame.
The Panthers have won all 21 meetings with Robert Morris. Knight scored 20 points in an 86-62 rout last season on November 20, 2001.
Pitt has won its nine games by an average of nearly 23 points.
Robert Morris (3-5) has lost three straight, including a 76-59 loss at Penn State on Thursday. Maurice Carter led the Colonials with 20 points.
