STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Fifteenth-ranked Illinois will try to end a two-game road losing streak Saturday afternoon when it visits Big Ten Conference rival Penn State.
Brian Cook scored 22 points on 6-of-10 shooting as Illinois bounced back from a pair of losses Wednesday with a 75-62 Big Ten Conference victory over Purdue, which missed its final 14 shots.
Undefeated at home, the Fighting Illini (13-3, 3-2 Big Ten) are having their difficulties on the road. They've suffered conference losses at Iowa and Indiana and are 1-3 away from home.
Cook, a 6-10 senior, leads the conference in scoring with 21.1 points per game and is third with 8.4 rebounds.
The Nittany Lions (5-10, 0-4) were handed a 70-36 drubbing by Michigan State on Wednesday. They scored only 11 points in the first half and went on to shoot 23 percent (11-of-47) from the field.
Illinois is 5-3 all-time at Penn State. On February 20, 2002 in Champaign, it won the lone meeting of the season between the teams, 83-56.
Penn State has lost four consecutive games, all against conference foes.
