ST LOUIS (Ticker) -- Second-ranked Louisville hopes to extend the nation's longest winning streak to 18 games when it visits Conference USA American Division rival Saint Louis at the Savvis Center on Wednesday.
The Cardinals (18-1, 8-0 C-USA American), who have the best winning percentage in the country, have not lost since an 86-84 defeat to Purdue in the Wooden Tradition on November 30.
On Saturday, Louisville manhandled Houston on the road, 81-55. Marvin Stone scored 17 points, Reece Gaines 16, Taquan Dean 15 and Francisco Garcia 14 in the rout.
Saint Louis (8-12, 2-7) has lost two in a row and seven of nine.
On Saturday, the Billikens fell at South Florida, 71-64. Drew Diener scored 15 points, Josh Fisher 14 and Marque Perry 13 but they allowed the Bulls to connect on 60 percent of their shot attempts.
The Cardinals hold a 43-19 lead all time against the Billikens, but they had lost four in a row until posting a 73-54 triumph at Freedom Hall on January 11. That game was tied with 14 minutes to play before Louisville pulled away.
