BERKELEY, California (Ticker) -- No. 23 California tries to extend its home winning streak to 17 games when it meets Pac-10 Conference foe Washington on Saturday at Haas Pavilion.
On Thursday, the Bears (17-4, 10-2 Pac-10) improved to 11-0 at home this season with a 63-53 triumph over Washington State, its 16th consecutive victory here dating to last campaign.
They are the only Pac-10 team that is undefeated at home this season.
Joe Shipp scored 20 points, Brian Wethers 16 and Amit Tamir 14 for California, which has won 11 of its last 13 games overall and is just one game behind top-ranked Arizona in the conference standings.
Washington (8-13, 3-9) lost its third straight game on Thursday, 78-69 at Stanford.
Doug Wrenn scored 23 points and Nate Robinson and Curtis Allen 16 apiece for the Huskies, who have lost eight of their last 10 games.
Washington is 1-7 on the road this season and has lost 21 straight road games to ranked opponents.
California defeated Washington in Seattle on January 16, 73-66.
