COLLEGE PARK, Maryland (Ticker) -- No. 14 Maryland tries to defeat Atlantic Coast Conference foe Clemson for the 11th straight time when they match up at the Comcast Center on Tuesday.
The Terrapins (17-7, 9-4 ACC) swept the last four season series against the Tigers (15-8, 5-7) and posted a 52-47 road triumph on January 25.
Maryland is 47-8 against Clemson all time in College Park. The Tigers have lost five in a row here since a victory during the 1996-97 season.
The Terps, who are tied with Duke in second place in the ACC, one-half game behind Wake Forest, bounced back from a loss to the Blue Devils with a 96-56 manhandling of North Carolina on Saturday.
Steve Blake scored 18 points, Drew Nicholas 17 and Ryan Randle 16 for the Terps, who shot 58 percent and matched their biggest conference victory in school history. It also was the largest margin of victory by either team in the 79-year-old series.
The Tigers have won three in a row since dropping six of seven. On Saturday, Clemson defeated Florida State here, 74-60.
Edward Scott scored 29 points and helped hold Florida State's leading scorer Tim Pickett to just seven points.
Scott, Chey Christie and Olu Babalola combined to score 38 of the Tigers' 44 first-half points as they posted a 15-point lead at the break. Babalola scored a career-high 15 points and Christie finished with 12.
