PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- David West will try to reach 2,000 points for his career when No. 13 Xavier visits Duquesne on Wednesday night in Atlantic 10 Conference play.
West scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in the Musketeers' 93-58 victory over the Dukes on January 21 in Cincinnati. He needs 25 points for 2,000.
Xavier (20-4, 11-1 A-10 West) has won 11 straight games and is unbeaten in its last five against Duquesne (9-17, 3-10).
The Dukes suffered a 70-55 loss at Massachusetts on Sunday after posting back-to-back wins for the first time since December. Duquesne has lost nine of its last 11 overall.
If Duquesne hopes to pull off one of the season's biggest upsets, it probably will have to rely on Jimmy Tricco, who has hit five or more 3-pointers six times this season.
Kevin Forney, a reserve, is the Dukes' leading scorer at 13.5 points per game.
