COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (Ticker) -- After having a lengthy winning streak end on Saturday, No. 23 Utah tries to avoid its first losing streak of the season when it visits Mountain West Conference foe Air Force at Clune Arena on Monday.

Utah (21-5, 9-2 MWC) had its Mountain West-record nine-game winning streak snapped at New Mexico on Saturday, 76-69.

Marc Jackson scored 16 points and Richard Chaney 14 for the Utes, who made just 12 of their school-record 40 3-point attempts.

New Mexico went 40-of-53 from the free-throw line and Utah just 7-of-7.

Despite the loss, the Utes have a one-game lead over Brigham Young and a two-game edge over Wyoming with three contests remaining.

Air Force (11-14, 2-10) has lost a season-high four straight games, including a 56-43 setback at home to BYU on Saturday.

Joel Gerlach scored 10 points but was the only player to reach double figures for the Falcons, who shot just 39 percent and allowed the Cougars to connect on 56 percent.

Air Force is 8-3 at home this season but just 2-3 in conference games.

The Utes are 38-7 all time against the Falcons. Utah has won three in a row and 13 of 14 in the series, including a 45-35 win at home on February 1.
