AUSTIN, Texas (Ticker) -- Fourth-ranked Texas seek to complete its third unbeaten home campaign at the Erwin Center on Tuesday when it hosts Kansas State in a Big 12 Conference contest.
Texas (20-5, 11-3 Big 12) has won 14 straight at home, including all 13 games this season. The Longhorns have gone unbeaten in the Erwin Center twice before, in the 1977-78 and 1994-95 seasons.
The Longhorns enter the contest tied with Oklahoma for second place in the Big 12, 1 1/2 games behind Kansas, which has clinched a share of the regular-season title. Texas visits Oklahoma on Saturday.
Brandon Mouton scored 20 points and T.J. Ford added 17 as Texas posted a hard-fought 76-71 victory at Texas Tech on Saturday. Freshman Brad Buckman made 4-of-6 shots for 14 points.
Texas suffered a 71-70 loss at Kansas State last season in the only meeting between the teams. The Longhorns have won the last three home meetings.
Kansas State (12-15, 3-11) has lost a season-high five straight games, including a 77-70 loss to Missouri on Saturday. The Wildcats held a 56-51 lead with just over seven minutes remaining before faltering down the stretch.
Gilson DeJesus scored 17 points and Matt Siebrandt added 16 for Kansas State. The Wildcats' bench combined to make 3-of-12 shots for 10 points.
Kansas State has lost 15 straight Big 12 road games.
