ROSEMONT, Illinois (Ticker) -- Marvin Stone will return to the lineup for No. 15 Louisville on Wednesday when it visits DePaul in a Conference USA contest.
Stone was held out of Saturday's 82-76 victory over East Carolina due to an NCAA investigation about whether he took money from an AAU coach. Stone's attorney and Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich indicated on Tuesday that the investigation is complete and Stone is eligible.
Stone is averaging 10.9 points and 7.4 rebounds this season, but has struggled recently. He is averaging just 5.0 points and 5.2 rebounds in his last five games.
Louisville (20-5, 10-4 C-USA American) snapped a three-game slide with Saturday's victory in which it rallied from a 36-31 halftime deficit. Reece Gaines poured in a season-high 30 points and freshman Taquan Dean added 17.
The Cardinals are also playing their second game since learning that leading rebounder Ellis Myles was lost for the year with a ruptured tendon in his right knee suffered in last Thursday's loss to Marquette.
Without Myles, the Cardinals have decided to utilize more pressure on defense. That resulted in Louisville forcing 23 turnovers on Saturday.
DePaul (14-11, 6-8) has lost three straight to put a crimp in its postseason hopes. The Blue Demons committed 20 turnovers in a 58-50 loss to Charlotte on Saturday.
Senior forward Sam Hoskin leads the team with a 14.6 scoring average. The Blue Demons are in their first season under coach Dave Leitao.
Louisville has won all 13 meetings against DePaul in Conference USA play, including a 71-43 rout on January 22. The Blue Demons' last win against the Cardinals came on February 25, 1995.
