SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (Ticker) -- The Collins brothers were double trouble for Memphis. Using his superior size and bulk, Jason Collins worked the high-low game with his brother Jarron to perfection and scored a career-best 19 points to lead fifth-ranked Stanford to an 83-60 rout of Memphis in the semifinals of the Puerto Rico Shootout. Stanford (3-0), the favorite of the eight-team tournament, will play Georgia (2-2) in the championship on Saturday. Georgia upset 14th-ranked Utah, 65-60 today in the semifinals. Memphis (1-2) had beaten Miami (Ohio), 60-59, in the first round on Thursday for coach John Calipari's first win at the school. Today, Calipari's team had no chance dealing with the size of the Cardinal and had to resort to fouling. Stanford went to the free throw line 40 times, converting 29, while Memphis was 15-of-18 from the line. Jason Collins, a 6-11, 255-pound sophomore, converted 6-of-9 shots from the field, 7-of-10 free throws and grabbed eight rebounds in just 23 minutes. Jarron Collins, a 6-10, 248-pound senior, had 14 points and 10 rebounds, hitting 6-of-8 shots from the field. When the Collins brothers weren't hurting them inside, the Tigers also struggled to cover forward Casey Jacobsen, who went to the free throw line 13 times and led Stanford with 22 points. Kelly Wise topped Memphis with 21 points. The Tigers shot just 36 percent from the field and were outrebounded, 46-26. Jason Collins scored nine of Stanford's first 11 points, hitting a layup, a hook shot and five free throws as the Cardinal raced to an 11-2 lead in the first 3:14. Jarron positioned himself at the free throw line and lobbed down low to Jason, who overpowered 6-9, 235-pound Modibo Diarra and 6-11, 215-pound Earl Barron inside. But despite a major disparity in free throws, Stanford held just a 40-30 halftime lead. The Cardinal converted 21-of-26 free throws opposed to Memphis, which hit all four of its attempts at the line. Stanford scored the first eight points of the second half, opening a 48-30 advantage. Jacobsen led the run with a 3-pointer and a jumper. The Cardinal pulled away down the stretch, leading by as many as 25 points.
