SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- Blake Stepp scored 26 points and hit a clutch 3-pointer as seventh-ranked Gonzaga edged host San Diego, 87-79, to move into the West Coast Conference tournament championship game.

With the Bulldogs clinging to a 79-77 lead, Stepp hit a 3-pointer -- his fifth of the game -- with 55 seconds remaining and Ronny Turiaf hit a pair of free throws 10 seconds later to extend their advantage to seven points.

Andre Laws countered with a layup with 27 seconds left to make it 84-79, but the Toreros would not score again.

Gonzaga (28-3, 15-1 WCC) won its 13th game in a row and 25th of 26 and awaits Pepperdine, which defeated St. Mary's, 68-47, in Monday's title game. The Bulldogs have reached the title game five years in a row and are attempting to earn their fourth straight championship.

Dan Dickau added 22 points and matched Stepp with five shots from the arc. Cory Violette 14 points and eight rebounds and Turriaf contributed 11 and seven.

Laws had 21 points to pace San Diego (16-13, 8-8), which fell to Gonzaga for the third time this season and for the fourth straight time in the conference tournament.

Roy Morris shot 7-of-11 for 19 points and Jason Blair added 17 and nine rebounds.

The Toreros led at the half, 47-40, but the Bulldogs scored 10 of the next 12 points and took the lead for good at 70-69 on a layup by Stepp midway through the half.

Gonzaga limited San Diego to 27 percent shooting in the second half (9-of-33) and 39 percent overall (24-of-61). The Bulldogs shot 46 percent (29-of-63).
