GAINESVILLE, Florida (Ticker) -- Anthony Roberson scored 26 points and fellow freshman Matt Walsh contributed 19 and five steals as seventh-ranked Florida rolled to an 88-45 rout of Coastal Carolina.

Roberson made three 3-pointers and converted 9-of-10 free throws as the Gators (3-0) recorded their 32nd straight non-conference home win.

On Thursday, Roberson and Walsh became the first Florida freshmen to score 20 points in the same game in a victory over Eastern Illinois in the quarterfinals of the Preseason NIT.

"I am ready to get back to New York and play the teams that are supposed to be elite," Roberson said. "It is really going to be a test to see where we are."

David Lee chipped in 16 points for the Gators, who face Stanford on Wednesday in the Preseason NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden.

"It's a good challenge for us," Walsh said. "I think we are one of the best teams in the country. I think it will be a good challenge for us to play against Stanford, Kansas and North Carolina."

Roberson and Walsh sparked the Gators again in this one, scoring 15 points apiece in the opening 20 minutes and helping Florida to a 50-17 halftime lead.

"Our main focus was playing with great energy because, obviously, we have had a lot of games in a short period of time," Gators coach Billy Donovan said.

Big South Conference Player of the Year Torrey Butler scored 17 points but was the only player in double figures for the Chanticleers (1-1).

"They're awful good - awful being how I feel, good being how they are," Chanticleers coach Pete Strickland said. "Unselfish and skilled are two things that come to mind."

Ferocious defense allowed Florida to hold an opponent under 50 points for the first time since December 23, 2000 against American.

The Gators improved to 3-0 all-time against Coastal Carolina with an average victory margin of 34.3 points.
