EUGENE, Oregon (Ticker) -- Ninth-ranked Oregon unveiled its Pac-10 Conference championship banner, then buried Grambling State.
James Davis drilled seven 3-pointers and scored 21 points to lead the Ducks to a 97-52 rout of Grambling State in the John Thompson Basketball Challenge.
Davis came within one 3-pointer of the school record, going 7-of-12 from the arc, as Oregon claimed its 11th straight home opener. Luke Ridnour also scored 21 points and added nine assists to help the Ducks to their 17th consecutive home victory.
Oregon is six wins shy of matching the longest home winning streak in school history, established from 1937-39.
The Ducks are coming off their first outright conference title since 1938 and a trip to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
On Monday, Oregon faces Jacksonville in the title game while Grambling State faces Cal State-Northridge in the consolation contest.
William McDonald scored 17 points for the Tigers (0-2), who fell for the second time in as many meetings with Oregon.
