COLUMBIA, Missouri (Ticker) -- Arthur Johnson scored 16 points to lead No. 17 Missouri to an 81-46 rout of Austin Peay.
Missouri closed the first half with a 13-0 run to open a 42-20 halftime lead and never was threatened in the second half.
Rickey Paulding had 14 points and nine rebounds and Travon Bryant added 10 for the Tigers (2-0), who shot nearly 50 percent from the field (30-of-62).
Guard Ricky Clemons also had a second straight strong outing, tallying nine points and eight assists.
The Tigers' biggest lead in the game was 60-29.
Missouri (2-0) opened the season with a 72-57 victory over American. The Tigers improved to 33-16 in non-conference games under coach Quin Snyder.
The Tigers are opening the season with a three-game homestand that will conclude with another overmatched opponent, Cal State Sacramento, visiting the Hearnes Center on Monday.
Corey Gipson led Austin Peay (2-1) with 15 points, making 5-of-13 attempts with four 3-pointers.
Josh Lewis made all five shots and added two free throws for 12 points. Lewis also led Austin Peay with four blocks, six rebounds and three assists.
Austin Peay shot just 24 percent (8-of-33) in the second half and was 29 percent (16-of-55) for the game.
