SOUTH BEND, Indiana (Ticker) -- Matt Carroll scored 25 points as No. 11 Notre Dame extended its winning streak to six games with a 93-75 victory over Canisius.
Notre Dame (10-1) defeated Canisius for the sixth successive time at the Joyce Center and improved to 19-4 in the all-time series.
The Fighting Irish have won six straight games for the first time since opening last season 7-0 and they're off to their best start since going 12-1 in the 1978-79 season.
Dan Miller added a career-high 23 points, going 6-of-9 from 3-point range. Carroll shot 10-of-12 from the field, 4-of-5 from long range.
Notre Dame controlled the pace from the start and hit seven of its first nine attempts for a 22-4 advantage. Carroll scored five points in 13 seconds during the run, with Miller and Tom Timmermans hitting 3-pointers to cap it.
Brian Dux scored 20 points for the Golden Griffins (5-4), who trailed, 52-30, at halftime. Dux scored seven points in a 10-4 run to end the half.
Richard Jones added 13 points for the Griffins.
Canisius, which last defeated the Irish on February 4, 1961, took advantage of Notre Dame's starters sitting in the last 10 minutes and managed to make the score respectable.
The Griffins fell behind by as many as 34 points in the second half, 71-37.
